  • Camels in Oklahoma? Megatylopus was a 10-foot-tall prehistoric camel that lived in Texas County, Oklahoma, 6 million years ago. Visitors will see Megatylopus and many other rare and unique specimens in this lively exhibit. "Collecting Oklahoma" highlights our rich heritage through the museum's 100+ years of collecting and preserving Oklahoma's treasures. The exhibition is arranged as a walk across the state, allowing visitors to experience the sights and sounds of Oklahoma's ancient, historic and present-day natural history. The focus is on the rare and unusual, with most of the objects having never before been displayed. Highlights include a simulated scientific field camp, a seldom-seen Oklahoma ringtail, and a 30-foot-long elasmosaur. An official Oklahoma Centennial Project. More....
