| In the spring and summer of 2008, I was privileged to be Artist-in-Residence at Harvard Forest in the beautiful woods of Petersham, Massachusetts. Along with my husband, Bullard Fellow and University of Oklahoma ecology professor Mike Kaspari, I was given the gift of time and resources, which I used to draw and paint directly from nature and to refine my skills in the field. I want to thank Harvard University and the wonderful people of Harvard Forest for giving me this rare opportunity to grow and develop as an artist. Particular thanks to David Foster, Director of Harvard Forest, for his help and valuable guidance, without which I would have missed the big picture as well as many of the smaller but no less important stories. |
