Plein Air Pen and Ink Drawings from The Tropical Rainforest
All of these drawings were done on-site, working directly with rapidiograph pens on ordinary bond paper. They are spontaneously composed and drawn with no pencil underdrawing. Complex drawings often take two or three days to complete, with drawing sessions of several hours per day often cut short by rain, or monkeys. The drawings shown here were made in the lowland forest of Panama's Barro Colorado Island from 1995 to 2007.
